The B.F.A. in studio art with a graphic design emphasis is considered a pre-professional degree which leads to careers or graduate study in art design and related disciplines.
One of the goals of the program is for you to form your visual vocabulary, and to "speak" it with an artistic voice. The emphasis here is on critical thinking within contemporary issues, combined with a strong understanding of formal design principles, and a fluency in multiple mediums.
Through the curriculum, you’ll find design and fine art content interwoven with literature, philosophy, history, and technology.
Many of your graphic design courses will be taught in the new MediaLab, equipped with Macintosh computers. Your ability to execute an idea will be limited only by your imagination!
