MBA Cohorts & Scheduling

Cohorts

Admission to the MBA program is by cohort and students may choose either part-time or full-time paths.  Cohorts provide many benefits to students, but the major benefits are logical course sequencing and the support systems and networks that develop when students move through programs together.  These benefits lead to something even more important, as retention and graduation rates in cohort programs tend to be much higher than in open registration programs.

Cohorts do impose some limitations.  Students who deviate from their cohort schedules may be forced to delay registration or to attend courses away from their home campus.  Students who join the program in January will have limited opportunities for classes until the following Fall.  Students who fail to complete a course in sequence may be forced to change cohorts.  The MBA office will work with students whenever possible, but cannot guarantee available courses outside the cohort framework.
