Biography:
My academic career began at Western Kentucky University teaching undergraduate courses in management, human resources and operations management. Recently I served as associate professor and MBA director at Carson-Newman college. Prior to beginning my academic career, my industry experience included serving 3 publicly traded and one private organization at the director level in human resources and operations management over a span of 20+ years. Recently I worked as a Master Black Belt in Six Sigma and Lean manufacturing expert having worked in various industries including healthcare, mining, construction, and transportation. I worked as an entrepreneur before selling my company in 1995.
I have published in academic, industry and trade journals and have presented at the Academy of Management in 2007 and ICAM in 2009 and 2010. I am a member of the Academy of Management, American Society of Quality and Society of Human Resource Managers.
I am married to Alicia of 18 years and we have 3 wonderful children, Richard (9), Roman (7) and Taelor (5). I enjoy spending time with my family, home improvement projects, boating, collecting/refinishing antiques, architectural study, college sports and history.
