Participants in the UP Program are trained and prepared for competitive employment. They are required to complete four on-campus internships before they receive their UP Certificate of Accomplishment designed to strengthen skills related to career interests. Internships are 10 hours per week lasting a minimum of one semester and a maximum of two.
 
The UP Career Development Coordinator also networks with employers in communities where participants reside after completing the UP Program and assists with employment opportunities. The UP Program maintains contact with employers for a year after UP Participants have completed the program and are living and working in their communities.The career development coordinator works with employers to assess job skills and helps with reasonable accommodations as needed.
