Applications will be open beginning January 14, 2013 and close February 8, 2013.  While many factors affect final placement, early application improves your chances of a preferred placement.

All students are responsible for their transportation to and from the observation location.

Review our criminal background check policy.  Whether you have a background check from a previous field experience or must compete one now, attach the report electronically to the application.  Remember that you have 72 hours to disclose an arrest that occurs after you have ordered the background check.  A new background check may take 3-5 business days or longer in some cases.  Don't wait!

TaskStream:
Go to the Professional Education Sequence Portfolio folder

• Look for the EDCI 201 Heading
• Fill out the EDCI 201 Field Experience Application
• Attach any appropriate files including background check from CertifiedBackground.com.  See Criminal Background Check Policy for details.
• We will begin sending placement information the third week of the semester via catamount e-mail.  You should contact the teacher within one week of receiving this notification.

Hard copy forms to be completed and returned to the Office of Field Experience:

• Contract (pdf) - due with application for Self Placement or after first observation session.
• Timesheet (pdf) - due 5pm April 26, 2013.  Timesheets should be signed by Host Teacher (or substitute) at each visit. Timesheets are needed for 14 hours of observation.

Host Teacher Evaluations of Students:
Host teachers will be asked to evaluate each student at the end of the observation. The results will be available to both course professors and advisers. Negative evaluations or improper behavior can result in a reduced grade, removal from the observation placement or, administrative action. Professional behavior is expected at all times.

April 26, 2013 deadline - 5pm:

• Timesheet (pdf) - due 5pm April 26. 2013 (Timesheets should be signed by Cooperating Teacher at each visit. Timesheets are needed for 14 hours of observation.)
• Evaluation of Host Teacher by Student- Complete via TaskStream.
• Yes that is 5pm. Report of missing timesheets will be sent to instructors at 5:01.
• At that point, students with missing hours or paperwork will need to appeal to the Director of Field Experiences to receive credit.
