We prepare prospective and inservice elementary (K-6), middle grades (6-9), secondary (9-12), special education (K-12), health and physical education (K-12), and special subject (K-12) teachers to be exceptional teachers who make lasting impressions on the lives of students.

Here, you will work alongside faculty, instructors, and cooperating teachers who are dedicated to improving schooling and fostering your professional growth. Our programs combine challenging educational and academic coursework with guided experiences in area public schools.
Our undergraduate programs lead to recommendation for initial teacher licensure by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction, while our Master of Arts in Education programs lead to recommendation for advanced teacher licensure.
Students who have earned bachelors degrees in a field other than education can choose to work toward the Master of Arts in Teaching degree and earn both their initial (A) and master's (M) level licensures.
