We educate prospective elementary school teachers and current teaching professionals who will work with young students, providing a solid foundation in instructional practices that research suggests best support student learning.
We offer several options for people interested in elementary education. Undergraduates can enroll in a program to earn a Bachelor of Science in Education (B.S.Ed.) degree along with an initial N.C. teaching license for grades K-6.
Elementary grade teachers with earned undergraduate degrees in elementary education may be interested in the Master of Arts in Education (M.A.Ed.) degree. Students who have earned bachelor degrees in a field other than education can choose to work on a second bachelor's degree.
