The Education Specialist in Educational Leadership (Ed.S.) degree leads to advanced licensure in education administration (Superintendent Licensure). The program requires 36 hours beyond the Master in School Administration (M.S.A.).
Students who have a master's degree in an education-related field may have their transcripts reviewed to determine prerequisite courses needed for principal licensure before entering the Ed.S. Program. Upon completion of the Ed.S., students who are admitted into the Ed.D. in Educational Leadership may transfer up to 36 hours into the Ed.D.
Read the requirements and course checklist for the Ed.S. Program (catalog listing).
Admission to the Ed.S. Program
WCU is not currently admitting students to the Ed.S. program. Those interested in superintendent licensure may wish to consider the Ed.D. program.
