The mission of the Chancellor's Advisory Council on Teacher Supply and Demand is to provide the Chancellor with recommendations regarding issues related to teacher (and other professional educators) supply and demand in the state of North Carolina.
The council meets annually to develop ideas and strategies that assists Western in
ensuring that all children of our state have a competent, qualified, and caring teacher.
Council membership has representation from Western Carolina University, regional PK-12
schools, and the community colleges. The council is chaired by the Dean of the College
of Education and Allied Professions, Dr. Perry Schoon.
