  12. Pick a password and enter it in both boxes – it must be at least 6 characters and contain one numeral

How To: Evaluate the Teacher Work Sample (Applies to both parts)

Note: the Teacher Work Sample is in two parts: the Planning phase and the Implementation phase.  The intention is to have the Planning phase evaluated before the student implements, so he/she can receive feedback on their plans.

  1. Wait for your intern/student teacher to let you know that their work is ready to be evaluated in TaskStream
  2. Sign in to TaskStream at http://www.taskstream.com/
  3. Look on the main page for the portfolio called "(Student’s Major) Initial Licensure Potfolio" where the “major” will be filled in with “Elementary Education”, “Art Education,” etc. and click on it. [If you do not see this and you know your student has submitted work, contact Dr. Lee Nickles]
  4. Under “Search for Individual To Evaluate,” type your student’s last name into the box and click the Search button.
  5. If there is more than one student matching your search, you may have to select your student from a list. The webpage will present a list and you click on the name of your student
  6. Once the student is selected, their name appears under the search box after "Selected author:"
  7. Click the circle beside "Show all available categories " and click the yellow “Continue” button
  8. You should see the student's name followed by many columns. Each column is one area that the student must address in the Teacher Work Sample.
  9. For each part you want to evaluate, click the yellow "Evaluate" button in that column.  [If you do not see an Evaluate button, contact Dr. Lee Nickles]
  10. When you are ready to evaluate, click the green “Evaluate/Score work” button on the left.  Two new windows will appear.  The first contains links to all the work the student has submitted.  The second is the evaluation window where you will score the work.
  11. Once you have viewed the work, select your score on the rating scale.  Comments are optional; the rubric score is required.
  12. At the bottom, select "Record as my final score" under the green heading bar.
  13. Click the yellow “Submit Evaluation Now” button.
  14. Repeat for all other columns except "Overall Rating." For this one, you do not need to look at more submitted work by the student but you will evaluate the Teacher Work Sample as a whole.
  15. Done!
