Understand Your Learning Style

Not everyone learns the same way. Your learning style is your preferred mode of learning, and once you know your learning style, you can choose study strategies that will help you learn new information more quickly.

Each of the online learning style questionnaires linked below will provide you with a detailed report of your learning style preferences and suggested study strategies that are well suited for your unique learning style. These questionnaires use different sets of questions and report your preferences using different categories. Completing all three learning questionnaires will provide you with a comprehensive understanding of your preferences.

  • The VARK inventory contains sixteen questions that will determine your preferred learning style using the categories visual, aural, read/write, kinesthetic, and multimodal.
  • The Memletic Learning Styles Inventory is a 70-question inventory that provides detailed results about your primary and secondary learning styles. Styles are defined as visual, aural, verbal, physical, logical, social, and solitary.
  • The Index of Learning Styles Questionnaire defines learning styles using four dimensions: Active/Reflective, Sensing/Intuitive, Visual/Verbal, and Sequential/Global.
