Service Description
The Division of Information Technology (DoIT) will pickup IT assets and deliver them to the Facilities Management Warehouse for disposal. Data on any hard drive picked up for surplus will be destroyed by DoIT staff through one of two methods; (1) degaussing to render the drive unusable or (2) DBAN using three of the seven passes specified by the Department of Defense to wipe the hard drive.
Requirements/Limitations
University assets DoIT is responsible for picking up:
- Computers - laptops, tablets, desktops
- Monitors
- Network printers
- Servers - enterprise level and Snap
- Enterprise level networking - switches, routers, wireless APs
- Smart Boards
- Data projectors installed in classrooms
- All technology assets purchased by DoIT
