Service Description
A centralized service to administer and distribute licensed software to WCU faculty, staff, and students. Contracts are negotiated through UNC General Administration.
List of licensed software managed by IT:
Microsoft Campus and School agreement
Includes the following software for campus-wide use by faculty/staff/students:
- Microsoft Windows
- Microsoft Office Professional
- Sharepoint
- SQL Server
- Visual Studio
Faculty and Staff may use software at home through work-at-home agreement. Students may install on personal computers. Media may be purchased through the Bookstore.
ESRI Software
For campus-wide use by faculty/staff/students. Please see specifics on the GIS Support page.
Symantec Endpoint Protection (anti-virus)
For campus-wide use by faculty/staff/students. May be installed on home or personal
computer.
Red Hat Linux
For campus-wide use by faculty/staff/students. Please see the guidelines for UNC
GA on the Red Hat Enterprise Linux Support page.
SAS
For campus-wide use by faculty/staff/students. Please see specifics on the Research Software Support page.
SPSS
60 concurrent licenses available for faculty/staff/students. 40 floating licenses
also available. Please see specifics on the Research Software Support page.
Banner ERP
For campus-wide use by faculty/staff/students.
Requirements/Limitations
Must work with UNC GA contracts and vendors.
Eligibility
Faculty and/or staff may request information about current campus agreements or purchase agreements.
Service Availability
Consulting on licensing available by appointment.
