How to Access/Request this Service
Submit a service request to the Help Desk. If the request meets project criteria, the ticket will be closed and the request will be forwarded to IT Governance.
Service Description
Application developers or analysts or database administrators at Western Carolina University are responsible for performing system maintenance, such as applying upgrades or patches, to supported business systems. Example requests include:
• Install a patch on Oracle databases to fix a specific issue or fulfill a dependency
• Perform beginning or end of term processing (e.g. run graduation rollover scripts
for Advancement)
• Install a desktop application on a personal computer (e.g. PolicePak, TicketTrak)
Requirements/Limitations
Limited to business systems supported by the IT Division.

WCU faculty and staff
Service Availability
Available during regular business hours, Monday –Friday, 8AM – 5PM. Maintenance may occur after hours or on weekends, depending on impact to the campus.
IT’s Role
Perform maintenance or apply a patch to one of the business systems supported by the IT Division. Change requests will be submitted for internal maintenance requests and work will be scheduled within defined maintenance windows when they exist.
