Charge
The charge to the Data Security and Stewardship Committee is to oversee the implementation of University Policy 97 Western Carolina University - Policy 97, to ensure procedures are up to date, to coordinate all relevant security policy reviews, to assist offices with risk assessments, etc.
The members of this committee are: the FERPA Officer, HIPAA Officers, GLBA Officers, the Chief Information Officer (CIO), an IT security analyst, the director of the Office of Institutional Effectiveness and Planning, representatives from the Office of Internal Audit, representatives from the Office of Legal Counsel, a representative from Administration and Finance, and a representative from Advancement and Public Relations. The CIO chairs the Committee.
