Students who attend the university to prepare for admission into a professional school
are provided with a variety of options for the programs they may pursue. Western is
pleased with our record of preparing students to be viable candidates for professional
school. We encourage students to make decisions early in their undergraduate career
regarding preparation for professional school.
The majority of professional school programs now require a bachelor's degree for admission,
although there are still some exceptions. In order for students to make excellent
decisions regarding selection of undergraduate major and undergraduate prerequisite
courses, the university advises students to contact the Director of Honors Advising
and Pre-Professional Programs.
The Director of Pre-Professional Programs works with all students who have an interest
in going on to professional school. Students can call 828-227-3277, email easharpe@wcu.edu, come by HC 101 Balsam Hall, or visit the website.
