SACSCOC orientation workshops set for June 2005

posted 06-23-05

“What is the QEP? How will it affect me? Why do I have to assess my unit? Are there specific SACS Standards that pertain to non-academic areas as well as academic areas? When will the SACS teams be on campus? How does what I do impact student learning?”

The 2005-06 academic year will be a time of intense work for many Western employees as we prepare for the reaffirmation of accreditation bid in 2007—when we are officially reviewed by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS), our regional accrediting agency. SACS accredits more than 785 colleges and universities in eleven southern states and its standards for institutional membership are comprehensive and rigorous.

The above questions and many others will be answered during one of two one-hour workshops to be held at 9 a.m., on Wednesday, June 22, and at 2 p.m., on Tuesday, June 28 in Room 203 of Jordan-Phillips Fieldhouse.
