| Agency Description: | An interdenominational crisis ministry, UCM helps Jackson County people who have urgent
physical, economic, social, and spiritual needs. On an emergency basis, UCM offers
food, clothing, and other forms of assistance. UCM also works closely with appropriate
county, state, and federal agencies to acquire various forms of aid. |
| Training: | The director and various counselors will train volunteers while working. |
| Time Commitment: | At least 2 hrs. a day/work as often as you choose. |
| Skills, Experience, and Special Requirements: | This is a very people-oriented job, it is important that volunteers enjoy talking
to people. |
| Volunteer Involvement: | Volunteers may stock food, pick up and deliver donated furniture, and sort linens,
dishes, blankets, & other donated items. Office volunteers may help with filing, answering
phones, and cleaning. Other volunteers may serve as counselors. There is a need for
someone to enter data. |
