| Agency Description: | The Community Mediation Center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Provides community
mediation, conflict resolution and mediation training, and group facilitation services
to Haywood, Jackson, Swain, Macon, Clay, Cherokee, and Graham Counties and also to
the Qualla Boundary. |
| Training: | Orientation and training offered to all volunteers. |

| Skills, Experience, and Special Requirements: |
Volunteer Mediators: Must complete 21-hour training and mentoring program in order to mediate. Office Volunteers: Individuals can help with projects in various offices and preparations for trainings.
School Trainings: Volunteers are asked to come to a training orientation meeting and then work with
experienced trainers to assist with trainings in Peer Mediation, Conflict Resolution
Skills, and Anti-Bullying Behavior for Schools. |
| Volunteer Involvement: | Assist with office duties, marketing, fundraising, court intake, and mediation. Also
assist in training and in group facilitation work. |
