The LTLT office is located at 557 E. Main Street in Franklin, next to the Friends of the Greenway Office.

Agency Description:  

The Franklin-based Land Trust for the Little Tennessee (LTLT) works to conserve the waters, forests, farms and heritage of the upper Little Tennessee and Hiwassee River valleys which includes all of western North Carolina west of the Balsam Mountains.  Since 1999 LTLT has helped conserve over 12,000 acres of farm and forest land including 100s of river and stream miles in the Balsam, Cowee and Nantahala Mountains.  We strive to protect land that is important for its value as wildlife habitat, productive farmland, recreational use, scenic beauty, or historic significance.

Training:  

Volunteers will be trained specifically for the tasks assigned.

Time Commitment:  

Depends on project.

Skills, Experience, and Special Requirements:  

We prefer volunteers who have education or experience relative to our specific needs (web design, GIS, etc.).

Volunteer Involvement:  

Volunteers will help LTLT accomplish specific project goals by providing voluntary service when/where needed.
