| Agency Description: | The Jackson County Senior Center is an activity center designed for seniors in Jackson
County. The Center provides a variety of activities, including classes, workshops,
and events to participants. All are welcome. |
| Training: | Training will be provided as needed. Volunteers should be organized, creative, and
reliable "self starters." |
| Time Commitment: | Varies, but most people spend a couple of hours at a time. Guest leaders and teachers
of classes must be able to commit to the same hours every week. |
| Skills, Experience, and Special Requirements: | Volunteers must be good with people. |
| Volunteer Involvement: | Volunteers can collate the newsletter once a month, help with monthly Country Breakfast
(last Saturday every month, 7-10 a.m. or preceding Friday), help with dinner/special
events/bingo, lead drills for tennis group (T&F, 9-11), serve as "guest" teachers
for art classes once a week (also exercise and creative writing classes), assist with
maintaining the library and kitchen, and do some manual labor. |
