at the bottom of the old Sylva courthouse steps. |
| Agency Description: | The Jackson County Chamber of Commerce is organized to advance the general welfare
and prosperity of the Jackson County area so that its business community shall benefit.
The Chamber will work toward the betterment of the community and will endeavor to
improve the economic, civic, environmental, cultural, industrial, and educational
interests of the area. |

| Time Commitment: | Varies according to the individual's schedule. |
| Skills, Experience, and Special Requirements: | Volunteers need good communication skills. |
| Volunteer Involvement: |
Office duties, which are split between the Chamber and TTA, include greeting and assisting visitors; answering questions; and secretarial duties include copying, filing, and performing computer work such as data entry and word processing. The Chamber is very event-oriented. There are also specific events (such as festivals, etc.) throughout the year that
volunteers can be involved with. These events are advertised separately. |
