| Time Commitment: | A minimum of three months commitment. |
| Skills, Experience, and Special Requirements: | Communication skills, computer skills, telephone skills, dependability, confidentiality,
and willingness to follow the dress code. Volunteers must also bring a copy of their
immunization records, which can be obtained from the WCU Registrar's Office. A drug
screening and tuberculosis test are also required, at the Hospital's expense. |
| Volunteer Involvement: | Volunteers support and enhance services to patients and families as well as the staff
at WestCare. WCU students can also serve in the Harris Regional Thrift Shop on Tuesday,
Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Tasks will include sorting clothes, serving as greeters,
and helping with sales and customer assistance. They can also read to children through
the Loving Readers Program. |
