| Location: | The T.M. Rickman Store is located at 259 Cowee Creek Road, next to Cowee Elementary
School. It is 7 miles north of Franklin, NC, by NC Hwy 28. |
| Agency Description: | The Friends of the Rickman Store is a group of volunteers helping the Land Trust for
the Little Tennessee (LTLT) to preserve the cultural heritage of Cowee, and specifically
focused on re-opening the Store for the community. The project includes: Cultural
and Educational Programs; the gathering of memories from elders of the community;
a Gardening Lectures/Workshop series and a Tailgate Market to promote local food production
and consumption; a Living Classroom and Community Garden for elementary school students;

| Training: | We will provide orientation on the history of the store and the community, and information
on the goals of the LTLT and our community projects. |
| Time Commitment: | Activities require an average of 4 to 6 hours commitment per event. |
