|Agency Description:||The Eblen Charities exist to reach out to the many children, adults, and families
in western NC who are battling the effects of illnesses, disabilities, and situations
that make obtaining the basic essentials of life more challenging. Eblen fosters such
programs as Emergency Food and Shelter, Emergency Assistance, Eblen Energy Project,
Crisis Intervention Program, Project Share, Eblen Children's Vision Program, The MANNA/Eblen
Grocery Program, the Buncombe County Drug Treatment Court, and a host of other worthy
|Time Commitment:||Customary Monday through Friday work days. Some programs within Eblen are event driven,
and may require volunteers on weekends.
|Skills, Experience, and Special Requirements:||Persons who are committed to assisting in serving the needs of the community.
|Volunteer Involvement:||Volunteers may assist with organizing major fundraising events, talking to clients
on the phone, and visiting schools with such programs as Food For Thought. They may
also be assigned to assist with one of the many programs listed in the agency information.
