Agency Description:   Democracy North Carolina is a nonpartisan organization working to fulfill the promise of "one person, one vote," the bedrock principle of equal rights and self-determination. We the people deserve and demand a government that is responsive to us and committed to the public good. You can help them make this ideal the reality in our state.

Training:   1 hour orientation by phone at beginning of project.

Time Commitment:   2-3 hours per week.

Skills, Experience, and Special Requirements:   Interest in politics and commitment to social justice. Also, public speaking skills and willingness to network with student and community organizations.

Volunteer Involvement:   Public education on issues relating to voting rights in North Carolina, including same-day voter registration, campaign finance reform, lobbying, and ethics reform.
