| Location: | Take Hwy 74 toward Bryson City. Take the Cherokee exit to Hwy 441 N. Take the downtown
exit, then turn right at the stoplight onto Acquoni Road. Remain on Acquoni Road
for about 1 mile. The agency is located on the right, across from the Cherokee Fire
Station and EMS. |
| Agency Description: | Head Start is to promote school readiness by enhancing the social and cognitive development
of low-income families. |
| Training: | No formal training is required. Training and orientation will be offered by the agency. |
| Time Commitment: | Volunteers may give as much or as little of their time as they wish. |
| Skills, Experience, and Special Requirements: | Orientation, criminal background check, and TB test are required. |
| Volunteer Involvement: | Childcare and community agencies are welcome to participate and offer assistance.
Senior citizens are welcome as well. Volunteers may work with children in Child Development,
Head Start, Early Head Start, and Wrap Arond Services. |
