Location:   From Sylva: Merge onto US-23 N / US-74 E. Merge onto US-74 E to I-40 E toward Asheville. Take the Charlotte Street exit, turn right at the end of the exit ramp. Then, at the third stop light, turn right onto Biltmore Avenue. On Biltmore Avenue, turn right at the second stop light onto White Fawn Drive. ARP is in a brick building on the left.

Agency Description:   ARP (a non-profit agency) is a leading provider of comprehensive behavioral health services for individuals and families with mental health issues or substance abuse problems in western North Carolina. ARP also provides a range of prevention services to individuals and communities in 16 western North Carolina counties. Working with individuals, families, businesses, and communities, our counselors and other professional staff deliver these services through our 5 facilities. Emphasizing a person-centered philosophy, ARP provides over 100,000 client encounters per year, helping adolescents and adults overcome their behavioral health problems and to lead more fulfilling lives.

Training:   Orientation and training will be offered to interns.

Time Commitment:  

Skills, Experience, and Special Requirements:   Willingness to learn.

Volunteer Involvement:   Interns working directly with Prevention Specialists within the community and the office.
