The EBCI-WCU Task Force exists to transform the partnership between the Eastern Band
of Cherokee Indians and Western Carolina University into one of mutually perceived
benefit and true partnership. Charged by the Eastern Band Principal Chief and WCU's
Chancellor, this group manages the implementation of a Memorandum of Understanding
between the tribe and the university, signed on October 21, 2005. WCU and EBCI are
equally represented in membership and meet monthly.
