If I duplex print or copy, do I have to pay the same cost for the front side as well
as the backside despite using one piece of paper?
Yes. Regardless of paper size, the WCU PAW Print system offers a single-sided $0.05
black & white page price and a single-sided $0.25 color page price for all 8.5”x11”,
8.5”x14”, and 11”x17” sizes of paper. In order for us to simplify the system pricing
structure involving various page sizes and make this one price offer to campus, both
sides of a duplex page will be charged the same single page price. The incentive for
the WCU campus community to print duplex is simply a conscious decision to choose
conservation and sustainability over potential waste.
My WCU CatCard was issued to me prior to 2007... will it work with the PAW Print system?
If not, what do I do?
No, it will not work. Look on the backside of your CatCard; if you do not see approximately
16 or so digits printed beneath the magnetic stripe portion of your card, your card
will not properly work with the PAW Print system. If your CatCard was issued prior
to 2007, it is not likely that you will see these 16 or so digits on the back of your
card. The presence of these 16 or so digits indicates a late 2006 change made within
the WCU CBORD CatCard system related to WCU’s change to proximity cards for electronic
lock building access and other card services. To obtain a new CatCard, personally
take your old CatCard with you to the CatCard Office located on the ground floor of
Killian Annex. In exchange for your old CatCard, the CatCard Office will create and
provide you with a new card at no cost.
How do we go about getting additional training for faculty/staff in our department?
Please call PAW Printer Services at 227-7159 to schedule faculty/staff training for
your department.
When sending a print job from my faculty/staff computer, I am not prompted to select/choose
my billing code. Why not?
If departments have assigned their employees only one billing code, the system will
not prompt single billing code users to choose their billing code. Because these employees
have only one billing code available to them, the system automatically assigns their
code to the print job and bypasses the billing code prompt. However, single billing
code users should always be prompted to accept or decline the cost of the job. If
an employee has been assigned multiple departmental billing codes, the user will be
prompted to select/choose their appropriate billing code from a drop down list. If
an employee is certain they were assigned multiple billing codes, but are not prompted
to select/choose a billing code and/or are not prompted to accept or decline the cost
of the print job, please call PAW Printer Services at 227-7159 for assistance.
When sending a print job from my faculty/staff computer, I am not prompted to accept
or decline the cost of my print job. Why not?
Users should always be prompted to accept or decline the cost of a print job. If a
user is not prompted to accept or decline the cost of their print job, please immediately
call PAW Printer Services at 227-7159. The cost accept/decline prompt feature allows
users a last chance to make or alter their document printing decisions, prior to actually
printing their document.
