Through our exhibitions, publications, educational programs, and demonstrations, you'll discover the rich traditions of the mountains, see the Appalachian region from new perspectives, and come away with an enhanced understanding of its land, culture, and people.
Mountain Heritage Center Mission
The Mountain Heritage Center at WCU is a regional resource for education and research:
We CONNECT people with local history and culture.
We BUILD bridges between the University and wider community.
We SERVE as a resource for cultural heritage organizations in the region.
Visiting hours are Monday through Friday: 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Thursday: 8:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
The Mountain Heritage Center follows the university holiday calendar.
