Battle of the Plug is a three-week energy conservation rivalry contest inside the Campus Conservation Nationals compeition. WCU will measure to see which campus residence hall saves the greatest percentage of energy as well as how the percent of energy reduction overall compares with about 200 other institutions, including Appalachian State. To see how we are doing please visit buildingdashboard.net/wcu.
There will be table tents promoting Battle of the Plug in various dining locations on campus. RSA and SGA have pledged to support the Battle of the Plug through initiatives such as “Whee Turn Off Tuesdays,” a voluntary campaign to turn off all lights and use less electricity on Tuesdays during the competition and “Whee Glow,” a free event in the Illusions venue in A.K. Hinds University Center from 7 to 11 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013.

Thanks to everyone's hard work on the Battle of the Plug competition. Although WCU
didn't win this year, great job Walker Hall with a 7.5% reduction overall, Robertson
Hall with a 7.2% reduction overall, and Buchanan Hall with a 6.7% reduction overall.
Between Appalachian State University and Western Carolina University, we saved almost
$2000 in energy costs! Way to go, WCU and ASU!
