Academic and Administrative buildings on campus are connected to each other via gigabit Ethernet and provide each office or classroom with at least one 100 megabit Ethernet connection

Western’s campus connection currently utilizes an OC-3 (155.52 Mb/s) connection for access to the North Carolina Research and Education Network (NCREN). NCREN provides for the UNC University system access to the Internet and Internet2. Future expansion will see Western’s connection to the state network grow to an OC-12 (622Mb/s)

WCU Wireless Network
Connect to the internet without being tied to a desk or network cable! The WCU Wireless Network is free to Western faculty, staff or students who register for access.
