The Beginning Teacher Induction Symposium was held July 31 and August 1st on the campus of Western Carolina University. Keynote speaker and workshop facilitator was Marcia Tate, educational consultant for Developing Minds, Inc. Teaching All Students in the 21st Century was Ms. Tate's focus and she provided strategies for raising student achievement by meeting the learning needs of each student and increasing subject matter understanding.
Jerome Hughes, teacher, Asheville High School and the 2007 Western Region Teacher of the Year closed the symposium.
