Sergeant

Sergeant Hester is a native of Charleston, South Carolina and graduated from Hanahan High School. Sergeant Hester also graduated from the University of South Carolina with an Associate of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice. Before joining the Western Carolina University Police Department, Sergeant Hester served 25 years with the North Charleston Police Department and retired as a lieutenant. Sergeant Hester also served eight years in the United States Coast Guard Reserves where he achieved the rank of Port Security Third Class (PS3). Sergeant Hester moved to North Carolina and joined the Western Carolina University Police Department in 2006. In 2007, Sergeant Hester was promoted to his present rank and position as a shift sergeant. In his free time, Sergeant Hester enjoys living in the mountains, four-wheeling, fishing, and meeting some of the most wonderful people in the world.
