Assistant Chief
Assistant Chief Hudson is a native of Indianapolis, Indiana and graduated from Cathedral High School. Assistant Chief Hudson began his law enforcement career with the Indianapolis Police Department (IPD) and was employed with this agency for 26 years. During his career with IPD, Assistant Chief Hudson rose to the rank of major and served as a police officer, investigator, executive officer to the Director of Public Safety, director of the parks department, housing department, and environmental department police officers, and commander of the training academy. While at IPD, Assistant Chief Hudson attended the prestigious FBI National Academy, Class #218. Assistant Chief Hudson has also attended Indiana University - Perdue University - Indianapolis (IUPUI). Assistant Chief Hudson retired from IPD in 2006 and was immediately employed by the Western Carolina University (WCU) Police Department. Assistant Chief Hudson is second-in-command of the Police Department. During his free time, Assistant Chief Hudson tends to his horses and is a devoted follower of Notre Dame’s “Fighting Irish” football team.
