Officer
Officer Yopp is a native of Tampa, Florida and graduated from Sylva-Webster High School. While in school, Officer Yopp was very active in sports and earned four Presidential Physical Fitness Awards. Before joining the Western Carolina University Police Department (WCUPD), Officer Yopp served as an assistant teacher in special education and a detention officer for the Macon County Sheriff’s Department. Officer Yopp was employed in 2006 as a Police Telecommunicator. In 2007, she was employed as a Police Officer Trainee and attended Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET) at Haywood Community College. Upon successfully completing BLET, Officer Yopp was promoted to her present position of police officer. Officer Yopp is assigned to the patrol division. In her leisure time, Officer Yopp enjoys spending time with her family and friends, cooking, camping, and working in her yard.
