Sergeant
Sergeant Ammons-Hagberg is a native of Jackson County, North Carolina and graduated from Sylva-Webster High School. Sergeant Ammons-Hagberg began her law enforcement career with the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department in 1987 where she was employed as a jailor and deputy. Sergeant Ammons-Hagberg was also employed as a deputy sheriff with the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Department. Sergeant Ammons-Hagberg joined the Western Carolina University (WCU) Police Department in 1996. During her time with the Western Carolina University Police Department, she has been employed as lead telecommunicator, executive administrative assistance, and police officer. Sergeant Ammons-Hagberg was promoted to her current position in 2007.
While working as a shift sergeant at WCU, Sergeant Ammons-Hagberg enjoys walking, talking, and spending time with students during her shifts. During her free time, Sergeant Ammons-Hagberg enjoys hiking and other outdoor activities
