Sergeant

Sergeant Walawender is a native of Auburn, New York and graduated from Union Springs Central High School. Sergeant Walawender also attended Southwestern Community College. Sergeant Walawender is a veteran of the United State Army and served during Operation Iraqi Freedom. Sergeant Walawender was employed by Western Carolina University (WCU) in 1991 and served for many years in Auxiliary Services. In 2005, Sergeant Walawender was promoted to CAT-TRAN Manager. In 2006, Sergeant Walawender successfully completed Basic Law Enforcement Training at Haywood Community College and was employed as a police officer with the WCU Police Department. Sergeant Walawender was promoted to his present position in 2007 and currently is assigned to the patrol division. In his spare time, Sergeant Walawender enjoys fishing, collecting ball cards, and occasionally obtaining a famous autograph.
