Summer Institute for Teaching & Learning
The major, university-wide initiative, The Scholarship of Teaching & Learning at Western Carolina University (SoTL at Western), was formally begun with the Institute. The goals of SoTL at Western are Improved student learning, teaching effectiveness, faculty development and a profoundly collegial community of and for teaching and learning. This Institute, the first of what is to be an annual event by and for Western faculty,was held for three days in June, 2003. It was faculty led and held on campus.
