Biography:
Dr. Denson received his Ph.D. from Indiana University and specializes in Native American history, especially the Cherokee. He is the author of Demanding the Cherokee Nation: Indian Autonomy and American Culture (University of Nebraska Press, 2004), as well as articles in the Chronicles of Oklahoma, Western Historical Quarterly, and North Carolina Historical Review. His current work focuses on Native Americans and historical memory.
