M.A.-TESOL - For individuals not interested in licensure to teach in public schools. These students would be qualified to teach anywhere except the North Carolina public school system and to pursue further graduate work.

M.A.T.-TESOL - For individuals from all backgrounds with no prior experience with teaching. This program leads to North Carolina licensure. 

M.A.Ed.-TESOL - For individuals who already have licensure and already teaching in the public schools system, but who want or need a graduate degree in TESOL.

M.A.Ed.-Master of Arts in Education - For individuals with a B.S.Ed. in English who want to become more professionally competitive. English programs are offered in two-year college teachingand comprehensive education.

M.A.T.-Master of Arts in Teaching, English - Designed to enable students holding degrees other than education degrees to study in selected teaching programs at the graduate level. Candidates must have an undergraduate degree in the area of concentration and meet departmental prerequisites.
