About Us

Your time at Western Carolina University will likely parallel a significant period of transition in your life. Although transitions can be desired and exciting, they also require change and adjustment, which sometimes can be difficult. The staff of the Counseling and Psychological Services Center can assist you to effectively manage those difficulties and successfully meet the challenges you may face while attending Western.

The staff of Counseling Services are all trained to address a wide range of presenting concerns and consist of licensed mental health professionals, supervised graduate interns in counseling, psychology, or related programs, an office manager, a consulting psychiatrist, several undergraduate student workers, C.L.A.W. peer educators, and a work-study student. Check out our staff bios to get more information on who you might talk to if you come in for an appointment.

We’re on the second floor of the Center for Health and Counseling in Bird Building. (campus map) You can find us by coming to the center of the building from either of the three entrances. Once on the second floor, proceed to the right to our private waiting room and reception area.
