The Wellness Council
is a collaboration of students, faculty, and staff who address priority wellness needs at Western Carolina University. The council consists of six committees: Alcohol and Other Drugs, Emotional and Mental Health, Physical Activity, Sexual Health, Nutrition and Eating Behavior, and Violence Prevention. Our main project is the Healthy Campus 2010 Campaign, and our efforts are guided by the Standards of Practice for Health Promotion in Higher Education.

Healthy Campus 2010
The Wellness Council leads the Healthy Campus 2010 (HC2010) Campaign at Western. This campaign is included in the Student Affairs Action Plan and is currently the Wellness Council 's main project. The HC2010 Campaign involves collecting student health data and assessing program priorities to meet the Healthy Campus 2010 objectives. Results are published in "How Healthy is Our Campus?" publications.
