MSW Program receives accreditation from the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE). The program learned this week that it has received accreditation, good until 2013, after which the program will come up for recaccreditation every eight years. This accreditation applies retroactively to all students who have already graduated from WCU's MSW program.

Reception honoring the Child Welfare Collaborative Education Program:
A reception in honor of the Child Welfare Education Collaborative was held Januray 22, 2009. The reception attendees included sponsors of the bill funding the collaborative, WCU Chancellor John Bardo, WCU provost Kyle Carter, Collaborative students, and representatives from the College of Health and Human Sciences and the Department of Social Work.
