Auditions were held to select three students to perform as conductors and three to perform as soloists, said John T. West, WCU director of bands.
Music education majors Adam Capps, Dustin King and Brandon Meeks will conduct the Symphony Band. Soloists will be Katie Ebert, a graduate student in music education who will present Weber’s “Fantasia and Rondo” on clarinet; Tiffany Lamb, a graduate student in music performance who will play “Piccolo Concerto in C Major” by Vivaldi; and Corey Parker, a sophomore music education major who will present James Curnow’s “Rhapsody for Euphonium.”
