The North Carolina Small Business and Technology Development Center has tapped Western Carolina University-based disaster recovery counselor Adrianne Gordon to manage the states two disaster recovery loan programs.
The state provided low interest loans and no-cost counseling to small businesses impacted by Hurricane Floyd in 1999. A similar program was available following hurricanes Ivan and Frances, which caused severe flooding in Western North Carolina in 2004.
As program manager, Gordon will update and administer program policies in addition to coordinating statewide services to more than 200 participants in both programs.
Gordon replaces Steve Stephenson, state program manager since 2002, who retired earlier this month from East Carolina University.
