eLearning / Digital Media
This Faculty Learning Community explores strategies and best practice for effective e-learning pedagogy.
Scholarship of Teaching and Learning
This group works with participants to develop projects in the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning. Members discuss developments in the field, review relevant literature, and work with each other's projects.
Learning Reconsidered – Faculty Enrichment and Education
This FLC integrates all of higher education's resources in the education and preparation of the whole student. Faculty, administrators, and staff are invited to join.
Civic Engagement
This group focuses on the promotion and facilitation of civic engagement in the classroom. Participating faculty will meet informally several times each semester to share and discuss ideas and techniques for attaining this goal.
Writing for Publication
This group is designed to assist anyone interested in brainstorming, discussing, or receiving feedback on their academic writing as it is in progress.
Sustainability in Education
This FLC will focus on sustainability in education, including campus sustainability, teaching sustainability, and integrating sustainability across the disciplines/curriculum.
Distinguished Professors
This FLC brings together WCU's endowed professors to explore common interests and opportunities to serve the university and the community.
Teaching Ethics
How and what can we contribute to our students moral sensibilities? This group will inquire into the theoretical and pedagogical resources available for teaching ethics.
International Faculty
This FLC is a supportive community of faculty and staff who seek to facilitate effective cross-cultural communication and classroom and across campus. Individuals from all countries and cultural backgrounds, including the US, are welcome. Discussion topics range from English language issues to strategies for fostering positive cross-cultural interaction at the academic level.
Service Learning
This FLC is an interdisciplinary group of faculty members who engage in an active, collaborative, year long program focusing on service learning as a pedagogical approach.
