The two teams will play a regulation rugby match, with all the standard rules in effect, except the players will be wearing prom dresses instead of traditional rugby uniforms, said Windy Gordon, a faculty member in the WCU psychology department who serves as faculty adviser and coach for the team.
The match will be held on the intramural fields behind the Camp Building and across Cullowhee Creek from Whitmire Stadium. Admission is free of charge.
“The event is traditionally a celebration of the seniors and a fitting end to the demands of a full year of training for and playing rugby,” Gordon said. This year’s match will be the final appearance for one senior – Ashley Lawrence, a history major, who has played for Western for four years.
