A resident of Canton, Veilleux is the winner of the $1,500 Edwin L. Stockton Jr. Graduate Scholarship, awarded by Sigma Tau Delta international honor society in English during its recent convention in Louisville, Ky.
From Palm Coast, Fla., Veilleux hopes to graduate in the fall with her master’s degree in English with a concentration in professional writing. In May 2007, she graduated from WCU with a bachelor’s degree in English and philosophy, and a minor in professional writing. She graduated from Flagler-Palm Coast High School in 2003, and her parents are Barbara and Daniel Veilleux.
Sigma Tau Delta will have its spring initiation ceremony at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 23, in the Catamount Room of the A.K. Hinds University Center on Western’s campus. All members, faculty and parents are invited to attend.
